Here is the theory between the Uchiha and the Kyubi made by riyuhou. And if you would like to discuss the said theory of riyuhou, please leave a comment below.
Now for the theory, I will begin by the end : I think, Mangekyou Sharingan is the seal which link Kyubi's power with the Uchiha.
Basically I think that Sharingan, and more specifically Mangekyou Sharingan, is the expression of a contract/seal between Uchiha and Kyubi, allowing the Uchiha to "tap" into Kyubi's power.
Before I develop more, let me tell you how I imagine the evolution of doujutsu since Rinnegan.
Rikoudou had Rinnegan.
Deprived of Rikoudou's body power and corrupted by Kyubi's power, this eye evolved into a doujutsu which was neither Sharingan or Rinnegan, the eyes we can see in the elder brother eyes. I think it was in fact a form of Mangekyou Sharingan : a dilute rinnegan without the body strength (aka sharingan), strongly affect by Kyubi's power.
My hypothesis is that, seeing how his eye power were weaker that his father's because of the lost of the body power, the elder brother either made a pact with Kyubi or create a seal to strengthen his eye by tapping directly into Kyubi's power.
We could imagine that, breathed by his father, he thinks about a way to become some kind of Jinchuriki...just like his father.
The result was that just like a summoner and its animals, the Elder brother could summon Kyubi's powers.
Then through generation, the "link" between Uchiha and Kyubi becoming weaker, Mangekyou Sharingan dilute into Sharingan. Just like a seal becoming weaker.
Based on this theory/hypothesis, I will now try to answer some questions :
Why an Uchiwa need to Kill his best friend to reach MS :
If my hypothesis is good, Mangekyou Sharingan is a seal which link Kyubi's power and influence to an Uchiha.
It would be likely that this kind of link would need for the Uchiha to be as close as possible to Kyubi's "darkness".
What better way for this than killing his best friend ?
Why every Uchiha MS user awake an identical set of Jutsu :
If Mangekyou Sharingan is a seal allowing to tap into Kyubi's power, it's logic that any MS user will use the same Jutsu or Jutsu that are similar : Kyubi's.
Why sensor (Karin and Shi) keep saying that Sasuke's chakra is not the same when he is using MS Jutsu, especially Susano ? And why this chakra is more potent :
Again, If while using MS, Sasuke is "linked" to Kyubi's power, he is also "linked" to his chakra.
Why Sasuke is changing so fast, and is now crazy ?
An hypothesis could be that using Kyubi's chakra is just like for a Jinchuriki. If you are not strong enough, you can easily be influenced by Kyubi's will.
Why Kyubi told to Sasuke that if he kill Naruto he will regret it
I think that Kyubi is the closest biju to Kyubi's.
We now know that if Naruto die, Kyubi die, at least temporary. Without Kyubi, maybe Uchiwa can't use MS. (totally random hypothesis I admit).
Why Uchiha can so easily control Kyubi and more important, why Madara can summon it.
Maybe Madara sign a contract with Kyubi himself, but since every MS user is supposed to be abble to at least control Kyubi, I think it's more than a "classic" individual contract.
